These left- and right-hand techniques may be intermixed in performance.

John Nolan (born 22 May 1938) is a British film and television actor, known for his role as a Wayne Enterprises board member Douglas Fredericks in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises promotional segments Gotham Central. Nolan had a recurring role in his nephew Jonathan Nolan's television series Person of Interest as John Greer, a mysterious British figure connected with Decima Technologies, the main villain from season 3 to 5 on the show.

John Thomas Nolan (born February 24, 1978) is an American musician from Long Island, New York. He is the current guitarist and co-lead vocalist of Taking Back Sunday, and the former lead singer, pianist, and guitarist of Straylight Run.[1]

Nolan left Taking Back Sunday in 2003 and during March 2010 rejoined Taking Back Sunday with Shaun Cooper, who left during his first run with the band, reforming the Tell All Your Friends-era lineup. John Nolan is also a solo artist and has recorded an album called Height and "Live at Looney Tunes."

Cape Canaveral became the test site for missiles when the legislation for the Joint Long Range Proving Ground was passed by the 81st Congress and signed by President Harry Truman on May 11, 1949. Work began on May 9, 1950, under a contract with the Duval Engineering Company of Jacksonville, Florida, to build the Cape's first paved access road and its first permanent launch site.[20]

The first rocket launched at the Cape was a V-2 rocket named Bumper 8 from Launch Complex 3 on July 24, 1950. On February 6, 1959, the first successful test firing of a Titan intercontinental ballistic missile was accomplished. NASA's Project Mercury and Gemini space flights were launched from Cape Canaveral, as were Apollo flights using the Saturn I and Saturn IB rockets.[22]

Cape Canaveral was chosen for rocket launches to take advantage of the Earth's rotation. The linear velocity of the Earth's surface is greatest towards the equator; the relatively southerly location of the cape allows rockets to take advantage of this by launching eastward, in the same direction as the Earth's rotation. It is also highly desirable to have the downrange area sparsely populated, in case of accidents; an ocean is ideal for this.[23] The east coast of Florida has logistical advantages over potential competing sites.[20] The Spaceport Florida Launch Complex 46 of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station is the easternmost near the tip of the cape.[23]

The Canaveral National Seashore (CANA) is a National Seashore located between New Smyrna Beach and Titusville, Florida, in Volusia County and Brevard County, United States. The park, located on a barrier island, was created on January 3, 1975, by an act of Congress. Canaveral National Seashore celebrated its 25th birthday on January 3, 2000; however, the concept for the park actually originated 44 years earlier. This 25 miles of pristine Atlantic Ocean beach, dunes and Mosquito Lagoon is the longest expanse of undeveloped land along the East Coast of Florida and as a federally protected area will remain primarily as it is today. Future generations from throughout the world will visit, enjoy and appreciate the efforts of many organizations and individuals who had the foresight and persistence during the 1960s and 70s to make the dream into a reality.

During 1955, a National Park Service (NPS) survey team visited the Turtle Mound area and "found the seashore a priceless scenic and scientific resource for which there is no substitute". Ten years later T. C. Wilder, president of the New Smyrna Beach (NSB) Chamber of Commerce, organized a Seashore Park Sub-committee, acting on a recommendation by the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council (ECFRPC) to follow up on the NPS report. The committee included several former presidents of the NSB Chamber of Commerce. They were Dr. Cook (Committee Chairman), John Deal and Walter Mulbury. Other members were Ed Hughes, Mayor of NSB, Bill Owens of the ECFRPC, Volusia County Commissioner Harris Saxon, Chamber of Commerce Director William I. Smith, and Chamber of Commerce Manager Hanford Eckman.

Their purpose was "to meet with State and NPS officials, as well as area chambers of commerce to promote the creation of a 15 mile long National Seashore on the Atlantic Ocean south of New Smyrna Beach. The proposed name was Cape Canaveral National Seashore". Robert G. Howard, ECFRPC director, in a February 2, 1968 letter to the chamber stated: "The proposal to preserve 9,000 acres of land between Cape Kennedy and New Smyrna Beach is without doubt the Region’s most important recreational project. The entire country today has only 10 national seashores, including Gulf Island National Seashore in the Florida Panhandle and Cape Lookout in North Carolina. No other recreation site in the Region, the State, or perhaps the Nation can compare with it".

Located on Merritt Island, Florida, the center is north-northwest of Cape Canaveral on the Atlantic Ocean, midway between Miami and Jacksonville on Florida's Space Coast. It is 34 miles (55 km) long and roughly six miles (10 km) wide, covering 219 square miles (570 km2).

KSC is a major central Florida tourist destination and is approximately one hour's drive from the Orlando area. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex offers public tours of the center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Because much of the installation is a restricted area and only nine percent of the land is developed, the site also serves as an important wildlife sanctuary; Mosquito Lagoon,Indian River, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore are other features of the area. Center workers can encounter bald eagles, American alligators, wild boars, eastern diamondback rattlesnakes, the endangered Florida panther[citation needed] and Florida manatees.

News is packaged information about current events happening somewhere else; or, alternatively, news is that which thenews industry sells. News moves through many different media, based on word of mouth, printing, postal systems, broadcasting, and electronic communication.

Common topics for news reports include war, politics, and business, as well as athletic events, quirky or unusual events, and the doings of celebrities. Government proclamations, concerning royal ceremonies, laws, taxes, public health, and criminals, have been dubbed news since ancient times.

Humans exhibit a nearly universal desire to learn and share news from elsewhere, which they satisfy by traveling, talking to each other and sharing. Technological and social developments, often driven by government communication and espionage networks, have increased the speed with which news can spread, as well as influenced its content. The genre of news as we know it today is closely associated with the newspaper, which originated in China as a court bulletin and spread, with paperand printing press, to Europe.

Space Coast Daily is Brevard's own social community news platform with the latest in news, articles, events, obituaries and more info on residents like John Paul Nolan.

Nolan is an anglicised form of O'Nuallain, 'nuall' meaning 'famous' or 'noble'. In pre-Norman times the sept held power in the barony of Forth, in County Carlow, where they were known as Princes of Foharta and held high hereditary office under the Kings of Leinster. But that power was greatly diminished after the arrival of the Normans, although their surname is still strongly linked with the area to this day.

In the 16th century a branch of the family secured large amounts of land in counties Mayo and Galway and there was a major migration to that area, in which counties the name is not uncommon to-day. A smaller branch settled in Corca Laoidh (south-west Cork) and here the name appeared as O'Huallachain meaning 'noble'.

The city of Cape Canaveral is located at the southern tip of a barrier island on the Atlantic coast of Florida. It is due south of the geographical feature Cape Canaveral (known as Cape Kennedy from 1963 to 1973). It is separated from the mainland by the Banana River, Merritt Island and the Indian River from east to west.[12]

According to the United States Census Bureau, Cape Canaveral has a total area of 2.3 square miles (6.0 km2). 2.3 square miles (6.0 km2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) of it (0.85%) is water.

Nolan is now firmly in the Top 100, at Number 71, is well used in Canada and Belgium, and is now Number 26 in France.

In the early 16th century Cape Canaveral was noted on maps, although without being named. It was named by Spanish explorers in the first half of the 16th century as Cabo Cañareal. The name "Canaveral" (Cañaveral in Spanish, meaning "reed bed" or "sugarcane plantation") is the third oldest surviving European place name in the US.[note 1] The first application of the name, according to the Smithsonian Institution, was from the 1521–1525 explorations of Spanish explorer Francisco Gordillo.[8] A point of land jutting out into an area of the Atlantic Ocean with swift currents, it became a landing spot for many shipwrecked sailors. An early alternate name was "Cape of Currents." By at least 1564, the name appeared on maps.[8]

English privateer John Hawkins and his journalist John Sparke gave an account of their landing at Cape Canaveral in the 16th century.[9] A Presbyterian missionary was wrecked here and lived among the Indians.[10] Other histories tell of French survivors from Jean Ribault's colony at Fort Caroline, whose ship the Trinite wrecked on the shores of Cape Canaveral in 1565, and built a fort from its timbers.[11][citation needed]

John Nolan of the The Nolan surname is derived from the Gaelic word nuall meaning “shout” or “howl” and the suffix áin meaning "one who."  Thus Nualláin would mean someone who howls or shouts.  One explanation for this derivation was that the shouting or howling referred to that eerie blood-curdling war-cry that was such an integral part of early Celtic warfare.  Alternatively, the name might have come with the first chief of the clan in Carlow who held the hereditary office of herald to the Kings of Leinster.

The O'Nualláin name may have been first used in Ireland as far back as the 9th century, or even possibly earlier.  It became O'Nolan and Nolan with the arrival of the English.  Other name variants have been Nowlin, Nowland, and Nolen.  The Nolin spelling has French-Canadian roots.

From its initial days in the lexicon of the United States, Cape Canaveral, NASA, and the space program has been adding to the modern view of history, by making much of its own. From the time Buck Rogers strapped himself to a movie rocket and blasted into space, the world has been fascinated with what was out beyond the stars. As the cold war moved through its inevitable phase of increased munitions and accomplishments, it was natural that it would lead to a space race as well. Cape Canaveral witnessed its first launch on July 24, 1950 with the Bumper mission.

Cape Canaveral is the home of the Kennedy Space Center, the hub of the nation’s human space program. From here, American astronauts confronted and overcame the challenges of space flight, conquered the moon, and set out aboard scores of shuttle flights to launch – and repair – satellites and build the International Space Station. You can learn all about that here and even visit launch pads. But Cape Canaveral, located midway between Jacksonville and Miami along Florida’s Space Coast, also offers fine beaches, an increasingly popular cruise ship port, the nearby Brevard Zoo and friendly hotels, inns and restaurants. Also near the space center is Canaveral National Seashore, 24 miles of undeveloped beach with 1,045 plant species and 310 bird species.
